Environment

Environmental nonprofits are organizations dedicated to protecting ecosystems, promoting sustainability, and addressing environmental issues such as pollution, climate change, and conservation. These nonprofits typically engage in activities like advocacy, education, restoration projects, and policy work to safeguard natural resources.

Environmental nonprofits play a vital role for communities in fostering healthier living environments, raising awareness about ecological impacts, and mobilizing local efforts toward greener practices. They also contribute to long-term resilience by supporting sustainable development and ensuring the health of future generations.

Friends of Palm Beach

Friends of Palm Beach is a 501(c)3 organization. We clean the beaches of Palm Beach daily as it’s the easternmost point in Florida and closest to the Atlantic’s Gulfstream and is impacted by an abundance of marine debris washing ashore. We remove over 30,000 pounds of incoming plastics, trash and unnatural debris annually and educate the community on the effects of plastics on our environment, marine life and our health. We hire individuals from local social impact agencies to help give independence to aged-out foster youth and the homeless. As the adverse effects of plastics on our health continue to grow, we host monthly volunteer events to educate and inspire the local community to be a part of protecting their own health and the health of our environment.

Wish List

Funds to continue our transitional work program.
