Human Services

Human services in the context of a nonprofit refers to programs and initiatives that are designed to meet the essential needs of individuals and families, particularly those facing economic or social challenges. These services often include assistance with housing, food, healthcare, and other critical resources.

For a community, human services foster well-being, promote social justice and help vulnerable populations achieve stability and self-sufficiency. Nonprofits that provide human services play a key role in strengthening community resilience and improving the quality of life for those in need.

Pearl Mae Foundation

The Pearl Mae Foundation is a 501(c)(3) charity with the mission of being of service to others, specifically, seniors. For years, we have witnessed these individuals fall between the cracks of the health care and social services delivery systems.

The Pearl Mae Foundation established the Senior Grant Program in 2017 to support seniors who cannot provide for themselves financially during times of crisis.

Our goal is to remove the financial burden, avoid escalating the financial crisis, and improve their health-related quality of life.

Furthermore, this mission led to the creation of additional programs, including our largest, most robust program, Pearl’s Pantry, the healthy food pantry for low-income seniors.
